Privacy Policy

At get-green-now.com, we recognize that the privacy of your personal information is very important. This privacy policy will provide information on what types of personal information we receive and collect when you use and visit get-green-now.com, and how we safeguard your information. We never sell your personal information to third parties.

Who we are

Our website address is: https://get-green-now.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

In general, users are not able to upload images or any other media files to this website. However, if you do upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

Contact forms are a service provided to this website by the Jetpack Plugin (owned by Automattic). Contact form submission data include IP address, user agent, name, email address, website, and message. Contact form submission data is submitted to the Akismet service (also owned by Automattic) for the sole purpose of spam checking. The actual submission data is stored in the database of this website and is also emailed directly to us, the website owner. This email will include the submitter’s IP address, timestamp, name, email address, website, and message.

We never use email addresses provided in contact forms for any purpose other than to reply to you in regards to your reason for contacting us. We never sell information from contact forms to any third parties for any purpose.

For more information on how Automattic collects and uses your data, you can access their Privacy Policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/

Cookies and Web Beacons

You can chose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with our site as well as other websites. This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into accounts.

We use third party advertisements on get-green-now.com to support our site. Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on our site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program) information including your IP address, your ISP, the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed. This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (showing New York restaurant ads to someone in New York, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing real estate ads to someone who frequents real estate sites).

A portion of our third party advertisements are also served through Ezoic. For more information on how Ezoic collects and uses your data, you can access their Privacy Policy here: https://g.ezoic.net/privacy/get-green-now.com

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

As you use this website, we use automatic data collection technology (Google Analytics) to collect certain information about your device, browsing actions, and patterns. This generally includes information about where you are, how you use our website, and any communications between your computer and this site. Among other things, we will collect data about the type of computer you use, your Internet connection, your IP address, your operating system, and your browser type.

We collect this data for statistical purposes to improve our website and services.

If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics so that none of your personal information is collected and stored by Google Analytics, you can download and install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

For more information on how Google collects and uses your data, you can access the Google Privacy Policy here: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

Who we share your data with

We don’t sell or share your data with anyone. We do use a third party email provider called Mailpoet to store your email address if you voluntarily signed up for our email newsletter. The privacy policy for Mailpoet can be found here: https://www.mailpoet.com/privacy-notice/

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you sign up to any of our email lists (like our email newsletter), your email and data will be retained indefinitely so that we can send emails to you based on the purpose of the email list that you signed up for. If you’d like to be taken off of any email list, click the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of every email we send to our email lists.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Our contact information

For questions regarding your data and how we use it, you can reach us at [email protected]. You can also email us here if you would like an extract of all of your personal information stored on our website or to request that we delete all of your information.

Additional information

How we protect your data

We do not process any financial transactions or store any credit card information on our site.

We disclose personal information only to our employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf or to provide services available at this website.

Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, we disclose personal information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of this website, third parties or the public at large.
